Marquee Hire Cornwall.
Kernow Marquee Hire!
Are you looking for interesting marquees for your event in Cornwall or Devon?
We live there and offer a huge range of interesting tents and event equipment for rent especially for marquee hire Cornwall!
Bigtopmania is based on the Devon side of the River Tamar border (border!?) pretty much in the centre of Devon and Cornwall near Launceston.
We live in Devon but have a Cornwall postcode but are only 45 mins from Exeter and Truro, so are centrally placed to supply marquees and event equipment to events and weddings in both Cornwall and Devon, as well as far away.
Literally in fields further away!
Marquee Hire Cornwall.
Are we a Cornish marquee hire company or a Devon marquee hire company. Does it matter? We rent marquee and event equipment throughout the area.
We are certainly a south-west marquee hire company with our marquee hire Cornwall install team based mainly from Plymouth to Bristol.
We go almost anywhere and take our marquee hire services to rustic country weddings, garden parties, birthday parties, coastal celebrations, boutique arts festivals, music festivals, town and country events, outdoor events, theatrical events, agricultural shows and a host of other event styles, let alone tv and film production supplies.
For Cornwall wedding marquees, we are totally on tend with rustic theme weddings, festival weddings, circus weddings, alternative weddings, unusual weddings, boutique weddings, bijou weddings, DIY weddings, theme weddings, rock and roll weddings colourful weddings, red and white weddings; any more?
We mostly have colourful marquees and try not being old school with the flouncy white marquee linings, up lighters and chandeliers type of package though there is undoubtably a place for them still.
Looking for circus tents? Vintage marquees? Sailcloth marquees? Candy striped marquees? Canvas marquees? Pagoda marquees? Free standing marquees ? Mini marquees? Baby big tops?
Let’s concentrate on memorable events and exciting, creative weddings!
We have a lot to offer the event sector in Cornwall and enjoy working on our doorstep! Bring on those cliff top coastal weddings!
Our event equipment includes: marquees, flooring, furniture, dance floor, lighting, electrics, decor, theme props, circus equipment, entertainers and hands on play activities.
If we don’t have it there are some excellent local event suppliers we can recommend to complement our services.
We are more than happy to work with other wedding and event suppliers and between us we can create all you need or if you prefer to add your own styling flourishes you can decorate to your heart’s content, stamping you unique style on the marquee.
In practice, it’s the joint efforts that create magnificent memorable events:

Some of our Brides and Grooms have had their real wedding features on top wedding blogs and magazines.
At Bigtopmania we are still relatively new to the blogosphere but there are those that have been flying the flag or bleating the blog for quite a while now and we are seriously chuffed to see our tents in their real wedding articles.
Nb. It’s not all weddings by any means! Our tents, venues, performances, artists and activities regularly get featured in event promotional and review sites, film, tv, photographers galleries and so on!
Real wedding features in various media are great case studies for future couples, packed with ideas for their weddings.
Real wedding stories have wonderful wedding photography and give a breakdown of all the suppliers & DIY hints for magic styling touches, budgeting tips and resources.
Real Wedding stories inspire!
Our snap shots below don’t do them justice!
The best photography is on the blogs or photographer’s websites ! !
We have been featured a couple of times on the world-renowned Rock n Roll Bride blog. This is a fantastic source of inspiration for the diy-quirky-alternative-hipster-hippies-goths-fairies of this world that want to take alternative weddings into their own hands. It features couples from all over the world and is now so popular they are also producing a beautiful magazine.
Matt and Alice, Somerset, June 2012.
Rock n Roll Bride featured this amazing festival wedding when we were involved in an ever so special stone-circle Glastonbury wedding of Matt & Alice. What a lucky couple! The ultimate festival wedding, held during a festival fallow year on the summer solstice weekend on the Glastonbury festival stone circle site! Some fantastic photos in this article courtesy of Neil Thomas photography and a really good example of how the Strawberries & Cream range can work for you.
Nb: it was a one-off! Please don’t ask!
However.. We are waiting for:
Tom and Laura, Somerset, June 2014.
Look carefully and you will see the Pyramid Stage photo- bombing the wedding.
When will their Glastonbury Festival site wedding get featured!? Held on the adjacent Park farm that is the other half of the festival, during the pre build weeks with the Pyramid stage in the background. A lovely local couple. Lucky connections again!
Adam and Lucy, Berkshire, August 2012.
At a wedding just up the road in Reading from where Bigtopmania was born was that of Lucy & Adam in Reading. Another festival inspired theme. A Festival wedding just to the side of the Reading Festival Site and with fencing and lighting in sight! They also used the Strawberries & Cream range with plenty of DIY additions such as the ‘Granny’s front room’ which pays homage to the brilliant festival venue ‘The Peoples Front Room’. Photography for Lucy & Adam’s day was by Viva Wedding Photography.
Nick and Mad’s. Berkshire 2011.
We are mentioned in Mad’s and Nick’s big day, for which we installed the lighting into a lovely tithe barn. To quote Mad’s in the article ‘Bigtopmania made that barn bad ass’.
Making things ‘bad ass’ is our unofficial mission statement : )
Two friends, Laura & Kelly who discovered there wasn’t enough help out there when planning their own festival weddings have created this online recourse of real life weddings, suppliers, tips, tricks and travel inspiration, visit https://www.thecomputeradmin.com. They have given us a nice feature and plenty of love over the years, so show them some in return; get reading, sharing and planning!
Gavin and Lucy, Nottinghamshire, June 2014.
In the early summer of 2014 we did quite a lot of trips up to Nottinghamshire for various weddings and events. One of which was for Lucy and Gav’s country wedding in a lovely little village just outside Loughborough. The day is captured beautifully on Boho weddings which is a blog bursting with content. From real life weddings to planning advice and everything in-between this is a blog worth bookmarking.
Again showing the need for good photography, the beautifully captured images are by www.lucabella.co.uk
Tom and Katy, Nottinghamshire, summer 2013.
Darn! No photos. Please have a look at wonderful ones here;
Another trip to the East Midlands saw Katy and Thomas hold their wedding and hire a couple of our tents for their ‘Quirky Big Top Circus Wedding’ in Blythe.
The day and night are captured perfectly by CGWeddings photography.
Away from the internet and back in the real world of printed wedding magazines.
It’s hard to know or keep up but we know we have been featured a few times!
Gavin and Lucy’s above wedding was nicely featured in the East Midlands Weddings Magazine in Jan 2015 . Your East Midlands Wedding – Dec:Jan 2014:2015 (Issue 5).
Milly and David, Maidenhead, Berkshire, 2012. www.bridesmagazine.co.uk.
An on the family farm wedding, Milly and David’s wedding in Berkshire was featured in the national Brides Magazine Jan 2013. A PDF of the magazine printed article can be found here.
Don’t Tell The Bride.
Buckinghamshire, 2014 . to be aired… some time 2015
Actually it was the first episode of the first BBC1 Series..and the Bride loved it!
We’ve probably been on other blogs and in other magazines… but we cant keep up!
Have you had a good look at the linked blogs and professional photo galleries.
Have these sample real wedding features helped?
Indian Wedding Marquee,
Henna Party Suppliers UK.
Are you looking for an Asian or Indian Wedding Marquee or a Henna Party Marquee supplier in the UK?
Why not do as this lovely Bride (Chandni from Watford, UK) did and host a Henna Party in one of our marquees?
Chandni chose to organise a circus theme Henna Party as part of her wedding celebrations.
The event was to be held the day after the English wedding and the night before the Indian wedding.
The marquees were set up in the back garden with plenty of time to allow decorating and catering installations.
A truly colourful and exciting venue was prepared by a great team of suppliers including;
Bigtopmania, (tents, flooring, side shows, lighting, circus props, electrics, heaters),
Jay and I Events (bridal seat, low chairs, cushions, stage),
Sapna Caterers (full Indian buffet catering for 300!),
Kelly’s Occasions. (candy floss and popcorn) and
Mobile Thrones (Loo’s and generator).
We had the pleasure of being at the event running the side shows that were a great hit with the children (and a lot of adults!!).
The event was nothing if not very colourful.. not only the venue but the dress code. Fabulous, bright and very stylish!
Near 300 guests had a great night, most of the ladies got henna done on hands, arms and legs.
For collecting guest photographs; good use of the Wedding Party smart phone App was made.. highly recommend this as a fun free way to do it
which looks pretty good.
Here are some snapshots we took.
So why not try us when you want an Asian wedding venue or an Indian wedding marquee for a henna party?
A while ago at the end of Sept 2012, the Bigtopmania gang drove the lorry, boarded the ferry at Fishguard and set sail for southern Ireland.
Jane and James had invited us to set up their
circus theme wedding
and after lots and lots of planning, they trusted us to supply and we did!
They got a fabulous party!
Adventures on the Irish Sea included lovely food, a bit of cabin-sleep and a drink or two for the lads.
After a few hours we were in Rosslare then driving through Wexford.. a lovely gentle port and traveled up the road to location near Gorey, right on the Sunny Irish Riviera!
(quick note.. Irish drivers are dead friendly and courteous, always thanking with hazard flash after overtaking you.)
We were welcomed to the stunning location .. a 1930’s architecturally very interesting cliff top house, right by the sea (gently spinning wind farm in the distance a mile out). Met the gang, cups of tea etc and pretty much started work setting up.
You can see the results in some of these photos and video slide show .some taken just with the phone and others ( the much better ones!!) by the pro on the day Ian Mcallister (stills).
Weather during set up was typically wet and windy, but on the day a glorious calm settled in and it was a stunning balmy evening..moonlight over the waves, chill area, chimneas, etc..
Great fun was had whilst there.. we were staying in a holiday cottage just up the road from the event, and had a few outings in the evenings.
Notable visit back down to Wexford on “Arthur’s Day”..ie Arthur Guinness celebrations all over Ireland..music and Guinness! Brand Ireland!
Further afield, when all set up and we had the time, a picturesque journey and an overnight stop at Kilkenny, lovely medieval walled town,…more music..more Guinness. Craic!
Music in so many pubs!! Enjoyed it all and even sang along to the rebel songs!
Being a circus team we just had to make and effort to visit Tom Duffey’s Circus whilst there… old school, tigers and lions(!), horses (very good trick riding!) and lots more exciting things!.. sadly in a cold dank rainy rugby club car-park on outskirts of Wexford. Fabulous show by hard-working , dedicated circus team but where’s the glitz and glamour in a wet car park!?
Wedding day; we were there helping to set up, checking over the tent, keeping an eye on the electrics, working alongside the front of house maitre dee. We juggled, partied, watched it all unfold adjusted tables, helped set up the DJ, the band and to keep the bar flowing.
Again.. another craic occurred!
Jane and James; a lovely couple, as well as their families, all treated us really well and we hope we gave them a fab wedding… judge for yourselves by the images!
(hope to see them again later this year, when we visit Dublin!!)

A muddy but ruddy good time!
On Saturday 16 March 2013 we participated in the first Fabwedfest. An alternative DIY Wedding Festival which was held on the beautiful grounds of Muddiford’s Court in Devon.
Fabulous Wedding Festival
It was our first time exhibiting at a wedding show after visiting numerous ones over the years it was great to be on the other side of the desk. We choose to work hard at this one as it matched our ethos much more than most.
Bigtopmania Display Stand
There were some beautiful displays from the various sectors of the wedding world.
Some lovely bespoke artwork, couture, styling ideas and jewellery to be seen.
Pizza Monkey fueled us through the wet day with beautiful stone baked pizzas. That kept us going until the delicious 3 course banquet in the evening, by which point we felt we fully deserved to “scoff” the meal which was served by Scoff Catering.
Musical highlights of the day for us were Alex Gregory who had a lovely voice and Mister Kanish who kept us bouncing whilst munching with their funky twists on an impressive range of genre songs.
One of the lovely singers and musicians performing at Fabwedfest
The catwalk displays kept the crowds happy and the models did a sterling job in the challenging conditions!
“Muddiford” and “Festival theme”…the name gives a clue and we should have known!! The rain had turned much of the field almost into a lake! So the tent flooring suffered… but that’s festivals and the mud and “weddington” boots came in handy!
Note to wedding planners…choose free draining sites for best location!! Avoid heavy clay in the rain!!

Nice to meet
After plenty of communication it was nice to put faces to names ; amongst others , Limegreen Electrics, Festi-Flags and the lovely ladies from Festival Brides,
Briefly met the team from Cocktail Caravan, didn’t get a chance to sample : ( but the van looked great and there’s always next time!) ( next-time.. more socialising!)
We met a few future Bigtopmania couples, and hopefully showcased our tents to entice a few more brides to be and party animals!
Marquees from our “Strawberry and Cream” and “Scoopy” Ranges
9m x 9m “Scoopy” version of our contemporary but traditional white wedding tent; perfect for vintage events!
“Scoopy” and “Strawberry and Double Cream”
Thanks for having us!
Thanks for having us FabWedFest and Muddiford’s Court, it was a thoroughly enjoyable time and a great experience for us, as well as a great chance to meet some lovely wedding peeps.
See you next year??
Let the clean up continue!
Festi-Flags and Bigtopmania tents make it a festival wedding!
